Last night MCHD hosted a Save Reunion in honor of Phillip Brewer at the Walden Yacht Club.

On May 21, 2019, off duty HPD officers Reyes & Nunez were enjoying a day at the Walden Yacht Club pool when Phillip went into cardiac arrest. Power Outage - Single Vehicle Accident

B-Shift - E51, M20 responded to a single vehicle accident on FM149N and Simonton around 5:00pm. Three power poles were broken, resulting in a power outage for close to 12 hours, power was restored at 4:00am the following morning. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE

The Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 will hold two public hearings on a proposal to increase total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll in the preceding tax year by 5.26 percent (percentage by which proposed tax rate exceeds lower of rollback tax rate or effective tax calculated under Chapter 26, Tax Code).  Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property and the tax rate that is adopted.

The first public hearing will be held on August 21, 2019 at 5:30 PM at FIRE STATION 51, 20590 EVA STREET, MONTGOMERY, TX 77356.

The second public hearing will be held on August 28, 2019 at 5:30 PM at FIRE STATION 51, 20590 EVA STREET, MONTGOMERY, TX 77356.

The members of the governing body voted on the proposal to consider the tax increase as follows:

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 last year was $303,799.  Based on last year's tax rate of $0.1000 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed last year on the average home was $303.80.

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 this year is $312,600.  If the governing body adopts the effective tax rate for this year of $0.0950 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average home would be $296.97.

If the governing body adopts the proposed tax rate of $0.1000 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average home would be $312.60.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the hearings and express their views.

NOTICE OF TAX REVENUE INCREASE

The Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 conducted public hearings on August 21, 2019 and August 28, 2019 on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 5.26 percent.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised last year at last year's tax rate of $0.1000 for each $100 of taxable value was $4,278,736.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.1000 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $4,487.320.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of $0.1000 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $4,553,398.

The COMMISSIONERS of Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on September 9, 2019 at FIRE STATION 51, 20590 EVA STREET, MONTGOMERY, TX 77356 at 5:30 PM.

The COMMISSIONERS of Montgomery County Emergency Service District No. 2 proposes to use the increase in total tax revenue for the purpose of capital improvements & acquisitions (fire stations, fire fighting vehicles & equipment) and to maintain fire personnel necessary to meet current & projected fire & rescue call volumes at the level of service expected by the District's residents.
