| The Board of Commissioners for MCESD No. 2 and Montgomery Fire Department announces the retirement of Commissioner Mike Mason.
For 21 years, Commissioner Mason has served our community with integrity, vision, and unwavering dedication. During his tenure on the board, Mike served as President for 10 years and retiring as Vice President the remaining of his commissioner career. He played a pivotal role in ensuring our firefighters and department had the tools necessary to keep themselves and residents of our community safe. Mike also advocated for the purchase of a Rescue Boat for many years, leaving his legacy of this purchase approved by the Commissioners in 2023.
We are deeply grateful for Commissioner Mason’s leadership and fiscal stewardship, his legacy of service leaves our fire department stronger, safer, and better prepared for the future.
