MFD Pink Shirt Campaign Honoree Susan Cooper
Susan has been a special education teacher in Montgomery ISD for 13 years and considers teaching students with special learning needs her calling and not just her career. She loves teaching and has a steadfast commitment that all children can be successful learners with hard work, support, and encouragement. She has served as the Special Education Department Chair for her campus for the past 10 years and currently teaches 6th and 7th graders at Oak Hills Junior High School.
Montgomery has been her family’s home for the past 20 years and she feels blessed to be a part of this community and to have raised her two amazing kids here! Her husband works locally in real estate and building and both of their children graduated from Montgomery High School. Over the years they have been active in school, church and community events. After finding a lump in her breast in August of 2018, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in September. At the time it was diagnosed, it was Stage 2. She sought treatment at MD Anderson in The Woodlands and underwent chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and infusions. Her faith in God and the love and support of her family, friends, colleagues, and students empowered her to meet the challenges of fighting cancer. She is a breast cancer survivor!
Campaign rasied $6300, provided (2) $1600 Scholarships and a $3100 check to MD Anderson in Susan Cooper's name.

Our Honoree this year is in Memory of Dee Krusmark.

This year, we are honoring Dee by selling our Pink Shirts with the proceeds going a MISD High School Scholarship and Montgomery Elementary School.
Campaign rasied $3800, provided (2) $1200 Scholarships and a $1400 check to MES whom purchased reading blocks in Dee's honor.
