MCESD#2 purchases and refurbished a special service truck to serve MCESD#2 . It is called Squad 54 and went in service October 2025.

It is a 2016 fire department body that MCESD#2 purchased from another Montgomery County ESD. MCESD#2 refurbished and remounted it on a 2025 Ford F550 Chassis. This saved the MCESD#2 and its citizens thousands of tax dollars over purchasing a new unit.
Squad 54 carries a multitude of special equipment to include: a drone, JAWS of Life, EMS equipment, Water Rescue gear and equipment, Electric Vehicle fire fighting equipment, and Incident Command equipment. It is staffed by an ESD#2 Captain, ESD#2 Driver Operator, and ESD#2 Fire Fighter. It is assigned to Station 54 in Walden . We look forward to it serving the citizens for years to come.
